Even after a long in-dwell time, tissue in-growth into the stent lumen is not an issue.

Furthermore, the Memokath™ procedures are day-case procedures, allowing the patients to go home the same day. After insertion of e.g. a Memokath™ 028 Prostate stent for BPH, the patient is able to empty his bladder spontaneously. No catheter needs to be inserted to drain the urine from the patient's bladder.
