Ventilators

SERVO-i Adult

If you only have adult patients to treat in your ICU, the SERVO-i Adult configuration is your given choice from a cost and treatment perspective. The standard configuration comprises ventilation modes and functions for stabilized patients. Options like Pressure Regulated Volume Control (PRVC) and Volume Support (VS) can easily be added on.

Find out more about some of the key features and benefits of SERVO-i Adult:

  • Supports invasive as well as non-invasive ventilation with leakage compensation
  • Transportation with no loss of treatment quality within and between hospitals
  • Allows for investigation of different treatment options like Open Lung Tool® and Automode®

SERVO-i Adult can easily be upgraded with additional functionality and/or a wider patient range. Backwards compatibility ensures that future functionality can be added. MAQUET can offer you to try out new functions or modes during a number of weeks.

Cost-efficiency: making your investment go further

The modular design of SERVO-i, together with its simplified cleaning and maintenance procedures and easy upgradeability, ensure that you have a system that is right for your needs today - and in the future. SERVO-i Adult can be upgraded to Universal doing away with the need for different ventilators according to the type of patient: you can treat all patients from a single system. The need to provide greater flexibility in patient treatment in order to speed the process of weaning the patient, together with the demand for streamlined operating costs, have been key parameters in the design of SERVO-i.

A system that's as functional as your needs

Flexibility, efficiency and ease of training, operation and maintenance, are important considerations for any hospital. These are key factors in the design of SERVO-i.

Comprehensive monitoring capabilities

The monitoring capabilities of SERVO-i are provided through a number of alternative waveforms such as Pressure, Flow, Volume and CO2 monitoring. The additional calculations of lung mechanics parameters include total PEEP, static and dynamic compliance, inspiratory/expiratory resistance, Shallow Breathing Index, Time Constant, Work of Breathing and P 0.1.

Ventilation Record Card

The ventilation Record Card is the perfect tool for a clinician to facilitate research work and presentations.

SERVO-i Ventilation modes

The typical ICU must be able to cope with any combination of patient and clinical situations at all times. SERVO-i features a range of ventilator modes for different treatment scenarios. A comprehensive array of tools assists the clinician who is interested in investigating many treatment options that promote lung protection and patient interaction.

Automode®

The Automode option allows patient interaction. Set a controlled mode and let the ventilator adapt to the current patient situation, switching from controlled to supported breathing upon sensing a patient effort. It will also function the other way around. If the patient efforts become too feeble or disappear, the ventilator will switch to controlled ventilation. The control mode is initiated after an operator set time-out. This well-established mode provides smoother, safer patient transition. It provides documented shorter weaning times with less staff intervention.

Open Lung Tool®

The Open Lung Tool provides an instrument for effectively determining the effect of a ventilator intervention. It includes the following features:

  • A long-term breath-by-breath trend of vital parameters for evaluating the patient response to an intervention.
  • Identification of patients unlikely to benefit from a recruitment maneuver at a point in time or position.
  • Guidance and standardization for a successful recruitment maneuver.
  • The dynamic compliance and carbon dioxide excretion will give a quality assessment of the effect any intervention has on the lung.

CO2 Analyzer

End tidal carbon dioxide measurement may give important insight into the efficiency of the ventilation. The minute production of CO2 will give a reliable indication of the metabolic load the patient is facing. CO2 can also be used as an indication of cardiac depression, which is especially helpful during recruitment maneuvers where high transpulmonary pressure may induce a fall in preload and Cardiac Output.

NIV

The easy-to-use NIV option for infants and adults provide responsive and comfortable leakage compensation made possible by measuring and adjusting during the same breath, thus maintaining the set pressure to the patient. A waiting position from standby to start ventilation facilitate the work for the staff and increases patient comfort. The monitoring capabilities of the SERVO-i will enhance patient surveillance and guarantee smooth liberation from the ventilator.

Y-sensor measurement

This enables measurement of pressure and flow as close to the patient’s airway as possible. Based on fixed orifice technology, the sensor is small and gives a very low contribution to dead space volume (typically 0.75 ml for the neonatal/pediatric sensor). Y Sensors are available for neonatal/pediatric and adult patients.

SERVO-i Accessories & Consumables

MAQUET ventilator accessories and consumables are fully tested and designed to work optimally with SERVO ventilators. Only accessories approved and distributed by MAQUET ensure the system works to the performance standards that SERVO represents and continues to deliver the best level of care for patients.

Clinical Applications

Golden Moments in mechanical ventilationTM

Golden Moments in mechanical ventilationTM are opportunities to improve lung protection and promote spontaneous breathing by providing timely assistance. Catching these Golden Moments is of paramount importance as it benefits patients by enabling quicker weaning, less side effects, effective oxygenation and gas exchange, minimal influence on pulmonary and systemic circulation as well as minimal lung damage.

Lung Recruitment

Lung recruitment has gained widespread interest as a tool for the opening of closed lung units. The widespread use of low tidal volumes may increase the risk of reabsorption atelectasis in the basal parts of the lung, which eventually may lead to consolidation of the affected areas. This effect is further enhanced by high inhaled oxygen concentrations. In certain patients, the use of a recruitment maneuver may provide a long-term improvement in oxygenation. If a proper PEEP level can be determined and set, the effect will stabilize and further protect the lung by avoiding cyclical opening and closing of lung units.

SERVO-i Mobility

Treatment on the move: Continuity of care is essential for critically ill patients. SERVO-i lets the clinician provide the same high level of care for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients during transport, with no loss of treatment values or trends and events information.
